An Irresistible Offer

Make it so damn good and present it such that your target market cannot resist it.

But this is easier said than done.

And a wrong offer can result in an immeasurable wastage of time, effort, and money.

The first common mistake is an audience-offer mismatch.

Either you are calling out to the wrong market…one that is extremely difficult to crack…

Or if your offer is in alignment with the target audience, it is not presented or delivered in the correct manner.

In any market, and especially a tough one, isolating and calling out to lucrative audience subsets like “seniors”, “busy moms” or “working professionals” can often mean the difference between a hit and a miss.

The second important thing is the delivery mechanism like TSL, VSL, hybrid, long form, or short form.

Your choice of delivery mechanism depends on the level of audience awareness, and also the price-point.

And, if this is not spot on, you are probably leaving sales on the digital table.

I would also like to take a moment here to talk a bit about a much-mis-understood topic – sales page design.

I realize the importance of having on-point branding.

But, the design should be functional, and should encourage, not discourage the reader from consuming and digesting the information.

I worked with Frank Kern, one of the pioneers of internet marketing from 2017-2021. And his go-to design was typically simple yet elegant rather than fancy and over-the-top.

I also like to use irrefutable social proof and risk reversal in the form of BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) schemes or money-back guarantees, if I can.

But, if you are running paid ads, and offering BNPL schemes, this means that you are probably losing money on the front end.

The solution?

A low-ticket product that is perfectly aligned with your high-ticket product.

I am talking about a $5-$10 front-end offer bolted with upsells and downsells to completely liquidate your marketing cost.

Recently, we set up a funnel for a client in the online poker coaching space that is earning a ROAS of 4 over a six-month time-frame.
